Fandom Cred

As with most fans of my generation, I began my fandom career with ST:TNG. I moved on to the Jossverse and will often be identified by my pale skin peeking out from under a Joss Whedon Is My Master Now t-shirt. I vaugely helped with putting on the 2006 Can’t Stop the Serenity screening in Portland, OR, and was a regular at the Mission Theater’s Tuesday night Buffy screenings.I write fanfiction. I’ve sailed on the USS Spander, the RCN McShep, and OT3 Simon/Kaylee/Serenity. I’m also a religion fangirl, but I’ve got another blog for that.

I started out as a DCU girl, but after Identity Crisis and Batgirl’s ‘death’, I got pretty meh about the whole crew. While I miss Ted with a great burning loss, Jamie Reyes is a pretty damn good Blue Beetle. And I want to be Molly from the Runaways when I grow up, if I can’t be Spider Jerusalem.

I’ve used LOLCats in business situations. And received compliments on my forward thinking.

I’m a single woman in my late 20s with a BA in Social Science and a M.Ed. in Cross-Cultural Education, which probably explains why I spent most of 2007 unemployed. I’ve also spent the majority of the last five years as a temp in two different states, so I know from fluctuating income.

I asked for Legos this Christmas and got a TIE Fighter.

This blog is an experiment. I’m going to see what happens when I put as much time and energy into keeping track of my finances as I do in keeping track of my fandoms.

The Experiment

What happens when I put as much time and energy into keeping track of my finances as I do in keeping track of my fandoms? Let's find out!
